The story is sort of a thought experiment about expectations: What we expect our lives will be like when we’re young, how things often don’t work out the way we think they will — and how we handle that gap between what we thought would happen and what actually does.
Besides the fact that the story has been published in Voluted Dreams, I’m especially pleased because, along with a group of other stories, there is an interview with the very talented writer (and a good friend) Rick Bowes, whose most recent book is Dust Devil on a Quiet Street.
Voluted Dreams is not a free online publication; it costs $2/month or $20/year. But hey! You could do worse…
